Dr. Smink joined the practice in 2005. He graduated with Honors from Amherst College where he was captain and MVP of the varsity ice hockey team. He attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland and served as Vice President of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors medical society local chapter.
He trained in orthopaedic surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago and then completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Harvard University-Massachusetts General Hospital, which afforded him the opportunity to be a team physician for the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and the Harvard University Department of Athletics.
Away from the office and operating room, Dr. Smink continues to share his love of ice hockey with the youth teams that he coaches.

Dr. Haroon M. Hussain was born and raised in the Mississippi river valley of Northwest Illinois. He graduated summa cum laude from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL in 2008. He obtained his medical degree from the prestigious University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine in 2012. Dr. Hussain completed his Orthopedic Surgery internship and residency from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 2017. He then completed a specialized Hand/Upper Extremity Fellowship at the world renowned Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center in 2018. The fellowship afforded Dr. Hussain the opportunity to provide orthopedic hand care to the 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Dr. Hussain specializes in conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand and fingers. He offers minimally invasive treatments such as shoulder, elbow & wrist arthroscopy, as well as endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery.
Dr. Hussain enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.

Dr. Samuel Sanders is a native of Potomac, Maryland. He graduated as valedictorian from The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, where he excelled on both nationally ranked soccer and tennis teams achieving all county honors. He continued his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he received a BA in Biological Basis of Behavior. Dr. Sanders returned to the Washington D.C. area for his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine.
Following his graduation from medical school, Dr. Sanders was accepted into an orthopaedic surgery residency at the prestigious Hospital for Joint Diseases inNew York City. During his residency, Dr. Sanders had the opportunity to complete extra training in orthopaedic trauma and fracture care at the world renowned R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
After completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Sanders accepted a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at the University of Buffalo inBuffalo, New York, where he focused on the latest techniques in minimally invasive surgery, cartilage repair, and complicated reconstructions of torn ligaments and tendons. The fellowship afforded Dr. Sanders the opportunity to work with, and provide orthopaedic care to, the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League and the Buffalo State College Athletics.
Dr. Sanders continues his orthopaedic care to athletes as the team doctor to several area high schools including his own alma mater, Bullis High School, inPotomac, MD, as well as the Holton Arms School, St Andrews Episcopal School and the McLean School. He has also been interviewed on NBC 4 News, ESPN 980 and Rock the Red Podcast, regarding sports related injuries.

Dr. Petruccelli is a native Marylander with a special interest in sports medicine, particularly shoulder surgery. He graduated from The Heights School in Potomac,MD where he played basketball and soccer. He then attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. receiving his BS in Exercise Science. He continued his education with a post-baccalaureate program, receiving a Certificate in Physiology at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia followed by receiving his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Relocating to New York City, Dr. Petruccelli completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic residency at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center/Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.
His interest in sports medicine and shoulder surgery brought him to San Diego, California where he completed his fellowship at San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine. There he worked closely with Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres. He also assisted the team physician for the San Diego State Aztecs. During his fellowship, Dr. Petruccelli published surgical technique videos for national orthopaedic society meetings.
Dr. Petruccelli’s orthopaedic practice allows his patients to get back to all types of activities and he enjoys seeing his patients return to their daily routines. He works closely with his physical therapists to ensure a safe rehabilitation protocol and recovery.
Dr. Petruccelli continues his interest in sports medicine by supporting the athletic programs at Georgetown Preparatory School and his high school alma mater, The Heights School. He is also involved in giving educational talks throughout the community.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He also enjoys exercise, travel, music and cutting hair (ask him about it!).
