Our Process

Physician Associates is a multi-specialty practice and makes every effort to make sure your visit is comfortable and efficient. Our process helps make sure you don’t have to wait too long to see your provider. We always have at least one physician in each office who accepts new patients.

Schedule an Appointment

Scheduling Information

Our office is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. We try to see all patients on an appointment basis, and request that you schedule in advance so that we can reserve time for you. If you call, our receptionists need to know the nature of your problem so we can schedule you appropriately.

Occasionally emergencies do arise which may result in some delay. We will try to notify you when possible to prevent waiting. Please assist us by being on time for your appointment. Keeping on schedule is a priority for us, but if you should have to wait, we ask for your patience. We attempt to call or email our patients as a courtesy to remind them of their appointment 1-2 days in advance. If you do not receive any reminder communication, you are still responsible for keeping the appointment or notifying us of cancellation.

Cancellations

We realize that situations may arise which prevent you from keeping your appointment. We ask that you notify us as soon as possible so that we can reschedule your appointment and use this time to accommodate other patients. A fee may be charged for appointments not kept or cancelled with 24 hours notice. In case of snow or inclement weather, we ask that you call the office to confirm that we will be open. You have several options when making an office visit.

New Patient Visit

This should be used for patients seeing any physician at our offices for the first time. Please note that this New Patient visit and lab work are necessary prior to having a physical examination. These visits will give both the patient and the doctor the chance to get to know each other better as well as finding any pre-existing conditions.

Follow Up visit

This should be used for urgent problems such as a cold, urinary tract infections or back pain, as examples. A brief visit may be used by your physician for follow-up of your medical condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes or heart problems. This visit is not designed to cover multiple problems that have been bothering you over the past year. If there are multiple problems for evaluation, ask the secretary to give you additional time.

Physical exam

This is a routine medical check up used as a comprehensive evaluation of all systems, generally done only once a year, and may include a comprehensive history, review of past and present problems, and involve EKG’s, laboratory studies, pulmonary testing, etc. Again, please note New Patient visit and lab work are necessary prior to having a physical examination.

Pre-Op Physical exam

This is the physical exam that a patient needs to complete prior to having a serious operation. Our doctors will assess and evaluate your health by looking at your prior and current conditions and have necessary tests done before your surgery.
