Founded in 1972 by Elliot R. Goldstein, M.D., Physician Associates was established to provide high quality comprehensive healthcare to patients in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
What started as a pulmonary critical care practice with a few doctors eventually evolved into a multispecialty practice in 2001. What makes Physician Associates unique from other groups is the fact that it is the only private multispecialty group that is not affiliated with a University or Hospital. Physician Associates has expanded its practice to include specialists in internal medicine, orthopedics, gynecology, dermatology, podiatry, speech language pathology, and family practice.
"Having practitioners credentialed in multiple specialty areas under one roof adds depth to our clinical expertise and benefits our patients, resulting in better outcomes and greater satisfaction," comments Dr. Goldstein, who also served on the fulltime faculty of Georgetown University Medical School. "We believe in treating the whole individual with prompt and personalized high quality care." Members of the group maintain close relationships with many other specialists, making the referral process easier (when necessary).
Physician Associates includes more than 24 physicians and numerous support staff at its Rockville, Chevy Chase, Burtonsville, Ellicott City, Silver Spring, Germantown, Largo, Wheaton, District of Columbia and Fairfax locations. "As medicine changes, we change to improve delivery of health care services. We will never compromise our commitment to quality patient care," adds Dr. Goldstein. "All of our staff strives to make access to healthcare easier at a time when navigating the systems can prove difficult."
Physician Associates is a multispecialty group which has a lot to offer its patients the advantage of quick consults from specialists which benefits patients with multiple or complex medical issues. For nearly forty years, Dr. Goldstein's vision has made Physician Associates a success and the practice continues to grow by an average rate of 400 new patients each month.
Dr. Goldstein's vision of creating an environment to practice high quality medicine set the foundation for the continued growth and success of Physician Associates. "As medicine changes, we need to improve delivery of health care services. We will never compromise our commitment to quality patient care," adds Dr. Goldstein.
